Gustavo Oviedo is a Miami-based graffiti artist who was born in Paris and has lived in Columbia, Venezuela, and Mexico. Upon his arrival in Miami, he turned to graffiti in order to connect with the local community. Oviedo is a self-taught artist whose vibrant and exuberant paintings reflect his interest in all things aquatic: the depths of the ocean, South Florida’s waterways, human exploration, and an overall appreciation of nature.
Oviedo’s work has been exhibited at the Museum of Graffiti, Bakehouse Art Complex, FAT Village Project Space, the Deering Estate, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Margulies Collection at the Warehouse, and MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art, among many others.
