Isabel Gouveia is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily works with painting, printmaking, installation, and digital printing. She is particularly interested in using non-traditional materials to convey a sense of transformation. Her work and research have focused on changing landscapes, environmental awareness, and the more recent effects of globalization.
Gouveia lives and works in West Palm Beach, Florida, and São Paolo, Brazil. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado in São Paolo, and a master’s in Fine Art from Florida Atlantic University. She has received numerous awards including the Artist Innovation Fellowship from Palm Beach County’s Cultural Council in 2020, and the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship in 2017. Her residencies include Ox-Bow Michigan in 2012, VCCA Virginia in 2016, and IS Projects, Fort Lauderdale, in 2018.
