Juan Alberto Negroni was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico in 1979 and currently resides in Dallas, TX. He received an MFA in Studio Art from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, an MA in Art History and Museum Studies from Caribbean University, Puerto Rico, and a BFA in Printmaking from Puerto Rico School of Fine Arts and Design. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Sacred Heart University, San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, Texas Women’s University, San Juan School of Design, and Museum of Art Bayamón. He was the recipient of the Meadows Artistic Scholarship Award in 2015 and the Ecole National Supérieure d’art Dijon Residency Fellowship in 2017. Negroni’s work grapples with themes of identity, familial relationships, and coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
