Tara Booth is an Ignatz Award-winning comic artist, illustrator, and painter from Philadelphia. Booth’s candid autobiographical comics shed lightness and humor on issues related to mental health, addiction, and sexuality. Known for her painterly approach to comics — often using bright colors and dizzying patterns — her work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Vice, Bloomberg Businessweek, Hyperallergic, and Best American Comics.
In 2022, Booth completed a residency with mtn space, culminating in a solo exhibition of works created in the gallery’s studio space. She recently authored Processing: 100 Comics That Got Me Through It, published by Drawn & Quarterly (Montreal, Canada) in 2024.
